City Council Delays Hike of Business License Fees
Businesses in Susanville, California can breathe a little easier after the City Council blocked an effort to increase the community’s business license fee. The City Attorney proposed the fee increase as a way to generate additional revenue for the city.
Opposition to the proposal claimed that an increase during an economic crisis would not be fair to local businesses. Business like Susanville Supermarket, Safeway and Wal-Mart and other smaller establishments already generate about $230,000 in revenue for the city.
