A couple in Bluffton, South Carolina has been operating a bed and breakfast without a business license. According to the town’s business license office, the couple not only does not have proper licensing, but also has not been paying state or local taxes as a result of not having a license. The couple claim that it’s not clear whether a business license is needed but would obtain one if necessary, as well as remit the required taxes.
