Owner of Construction Company in Dispute over Business License

The owner of a Colorado construction company in the Town of Cedaredge paid $22000 for a building permit but failed to obtain the $25 business license required by the town. Effective Jan 1, 2007 all businesses doing business in the Town of Cedaredge are required to file a business permit. The completed building remains empty as the company is unable to receive a Certificate of Occupancy until the business license is issued.
