In an effort to increase revenue the City of Montgomery, Alabama has hired a contract employee to investigate unpaid business license fees and taxes. In the first week of the investigation it was discovered that only 5 of 18 businesses investigated were operating with a business license. This adds up to $125,000 of new revenue for the city.
