The City Council in Brea, California has rejected adding a business tax increase measure to the November ballot. A 4-1 approval vote would have been required to get the measure on the ballot, but the council found in discussions that there was no support for the measure and it was dropped without a vote. The council had approved another business tax increase ballot measure in 2004 which was rejected by voters.
