In Star Valley, Arizona, one councilor decided he had finally had enough of the town’s $50 business license fee. The councilor petitioned the town to eliminate the fee, citing it was unfair and drives businesses out of town.
Despite the councilor’s plea, the town council decided to keep the fee in place. The council argued the fee covers processing and staff time, and keeps honest businesses in town while driving out the less desirable.
