Complaints about sidewalk clutter from businesses along Main St. in North Myrtle Beach, SC have prompted the City Council to find a solution to the problem. The Council has proposed a new ordinance that would require businesses to apply for an encroachment license in order to use part of the sidewalk in front of their stores. Businesses would also have to adhere to rules regarding certain types of furniture, signage and landscaping.
