Seeking solutions to help a problem with tracking certain types of businesses, one California city is strongly considering implementing a new business license fee. The Banning City Council is set to meet soon and discuss a proposal to issue a new fee for massage therapists.
The problem tracking the therapeutic businesses arose once the city adopted a new ordinance that regulated these types of businesses. City officials have found it difficult to monitor massage establishments and making sure each business is following city regulations. The cost of the fee being proposed is set to be $50, solely for owners and operators of massage businesses. The city fee would be in addition to the $125 business license fee massage therapists already pay at the state level.
City ordinances are always changing, and one day your business may be following the law, but the next day your business may not be. The decision the Banning City Council is set to make is a perfect example of constantly evolving business license regulations. It is important that you conduct thorough research to make sure your business meets all licensing requirements or you could face stiff penalties and a possible closure of your business.
