New Ordinance for Residential Special Events

Commissioners in Coweta County, GA are working on improving the special events ordinance. The changes will be reflected in all three components of the ordinance (the zoning ordinance, business license and the alcohol serving ordinance). The new ordinance will make it easier for people to use their residence for commercial special events. Coweta County residents can have up to four events per year without needing a license as long as these events are not for monetary gain, but will need a permit for every event that has a monetary gain purpose. Residents using their property for commercial events will have to submit information regarding traffic flow plans, evacuation plans, liability insurance and much more. The changes in the new ordinance were necessary as to allow residents to use their property for commercial events without impacting their neighbors.
