Decisions on Business Licenses Made

The Tiverton, RI Town Council meets annually to make rulings on business license issues, and at a special meeting Monday night, several decisions were made regarding the issuance of business licenses for companies in the community.

Ultimately 2 business licenses were granted conditionally while two other licenses were postponed. One license approved was for Tom Ouelette’s Route 177 Flea Market and another was approved for gravel removal on property at 691 Brayton Road, pending support from the town planning board and town zoning official.

A liquor license for Buddy’s Place was postponed due to unpaid taxes and sewer fees. According to the Council, no licenses are issued to businesses with outstanding taxes. The other postponed license was for South Shore Tiverton, LLC, a junkyard and second hand dealer that was re-roofed without proper permitting.
