Kansas City liquor business license rules revised

Liquor stores in Kansas City, Missouri, will soon find it easier to obtain business licenses, thanks to a revision of regulations undertaken by authorities recently.

The city’s liquor ordinance is poised for revision after Kansas City Council officials unanimously voted on Thursday, Dec. 16, to change existing laws, reports fox4kc.com.

Businesses in the city’s Bannister area, where residential density requirements meant some establishments were allowed to hold a liquor license while others were barred, are set to benefit from the move.

The news provider added that the regulatory change also means grocery chain Trader Joe’s will be able to open next summer at the Ward Parkway Shopping Center, a move the company has been waiting for years to do.

Commenting on the change, Vicki Wolgast of the South Kansas City Chamber of Commerce told the Web site: “It’s just another tool to make it easier and faster for a business to come in there and start up.”
