Business license revoked after incident

An Indiana tree service company has had its business license revoked after an incident involving one of its bucket trucks.

Wayne’s Tree Service of South Bend will not be allowed to operate until an investigation has been completed after one of its trucks tipped over, trapping Rick Franklin and his eight-year-old nephew inside.

Mr. Franklin suffered several fractures and lacerations in the incident, reports WNDU.com, prompting a police investigation. The cause of the incident is unknown, but Ann Carrol-Nash, South Bend’s assistant city attorney, suggested that it might not have happened if the company had properly followed procedures.

It will be up to police and city officials to decide if Wayne’s Tree Service violated any rules of operation under the business license.

Ms. Carrol-Nash told the news provider: “Originally the owners of the business were going to appeal the license revocation.  “After further discussion with their attorney they decided it would be better to try to sell the business.”
