Rhode Island town approves multiple business licenses

The town of Coventry, Rhode Island, has welcomed a number of new businesses as the Town Council approved 11 new business licenses this week.

Some of the permits were temporary, such as the one awarded to John Guisti, who was given a fireworks permit for use on July 4. Meanwhile, the church of Our Lady of Czestochowa was granted Class F and Dance licenses for the period July 15-17.

Full business licenses were granted to Cafe Gianna, which will now use its Class B liquor permit in place of the current bring your own bottle license, the Patch reported. Scott Parker, founder of the Fat Belly’s pub chain, was granted a Class B liquor license, which also includes live show entertainment, as he opens a sixth bar in Coventry.

The town’s Dunkin Donuts was granted two additional hours of operation, between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m., while six hawker and peddler licenses were renewed at the meeting.

According to the Patch, the multiple licenses handed out will help to improve business activity in Coventry.
