Business Licenses and Permits

The Shamrock has successfully obtained a business license to run a video lottery in Brookings, South Dakota, it has been confirmed.

Brookings City Council unanimously agreed to the permit after changes were made to the criteria surrounding the license of video lottery machines last April.

One councilor, Keith Corbett, suggested that approvals for applications to operate video lotteries would be suspended until issues are ironed out, but this was overruled, the Brookings Register reported.

Councilor Tom Bezdichek agreed to the need to discuss future permits for the machines, but that this should be set for a later date.

Changes to the ordinance meant that the city moved in line with state law, making three more licenses available.
