Business owners in Poulsbo, Washington, will soon need to renew their business license through a different route.
Beginning in October, businesses must apply for a renewal through the state-run Business Licensing Service. Renewals for the following year are due by December 31.
The Kitsap Sun reported that the new service will allow firms to renew their state and city permits at the same time, a change that will reduce administrative costs and prove more convenient for businesses.
Other changes will also be introduced. While it currently costs $75 to apply for a new business license and $50 to renew it each year, a single fee of $65 will be implemented for both new and renewal permits.
The new system will also give the state access to the Poulsbo’s licensing database, although city clerk Jill Boltz told the news provider that the city will still manage the business licenses.
