Alcohol consumption and drug-taking have led to Mauldin City Council, South Carolina, revoking the business license of Hailee’s Sports Bar and Grill following a public hearing.
The venue’s business license was suspended in February this year following frequent conflict between the bar and the city council, but will now be permanently revoked on September 30th.
Mauldin Patch reports that a stream of witnesses attended last month’s public hearing on behalf of the city following claims of drug use on the site and the serving of alcohol to minors.
Additionally, records of police calls were presented, showing that a number of arrests had been made following violent crimes.
Sonny Ninan, owner of Hailee’s Sports Bar and Grill, said that this could be the end of his business. He now has ten days to appeal the revocation of his license.
Buck Foston’s Roadhouse in New Brunswick, New Jersey, was denied a business license earlier this month because they could not move the permit from an old location.
