Schaumburg Village Board looks at reviewing business license fees

The Illinois village of Schaumburg is looking into increasing business licence fees because of recent growth in inflation and staffing costs.

Proposals put in front of the Village Board committee include increasing license costs by between two and three percent, depending on a company’s size, from January 1st next year.

A general business license costing between $85 and $725 – depending on its floor size – are set to grow by a similar amount if measures are passed at the next meeting on Tuesday (September 27th), reports tiblocal.com.

Revenue manager Donna Leck told the news provider that looking again at fees occurs annually.

“We review (the fee schedule) every year, and for the past two years there have not been any inflationary changes,” she explained.

Meanwhile, seven New Orleans home elevation companies face losing their business license after being placed on probation by the city’s contractors’ licensing board following accusations of incomplete work.
