A bar in Rock Hill, South Carolina has been shut down for operating without a liquor license.
According to the MidHudonNews.com, Las Vegas Sports Bar and Grill has been the sight of several disturbances over the last couple of months and was shut down following a raid by Sullivan County Sheriff Deputy’s.
The bar was found to be in violation of state liquor licensing laws and the owners of the bar were arrested for the unlawful sale of alcohol.
Speaking to the news provider, sheriff Michael Schiff stated, “The Las Vegas Bar has been operating on a series of temporary permits while their permanent liquor license application is pending.
“The most recent temporary permit expired on October 22nd 2011 and was apparently not renewed.”
Rock Hill aims to encourage local business through advantageous tax laws, award-winning employee training programs and financial incentives.
As a lively college town, boasting more than 10,000 students within city limits, Rock Hill is also popular for bars hoping to capitalize on the business environment in the city.
