Immigration laws cause further problems in Alabama

Problems over Alabama’s immigrations laws are continuing in Randolph County.

The deadline for business license applications was extended to November 30th following the introduction of the law, because of technical difficulties which prevented some businesses from obtaining a license.

Administrators are reporting that they repeatedly have to send citizens home to collect the right identification, slowing the process of filing licenses for the 750 businesses in the County, according to the Randolph Leader.

Moreover, officials often encounter a deceased person listed on the license title.

Since the announcement of the new immigration laws, opposition has been found across America to the increased burden placed on business owners.

In Alabama, court challenges were brought against the ratification of the Beason-Hammon Alabama Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act.

If businesses fail to comply with the new laws and register their license renewals by the end of November they will face penalties, including the revocation of business licenses and fines.
