Sauk Village cell phone shop has license revoked

A cell phone store in Sauk Village, Illinois has had their business license revoked amidst accusations of illegal activity.

The Hook Up has been left without a license as a result of allegations that they had stolen televisions, computers and other electronic equipment in the store, according to the NWI Times.

Sauk Village police detective Robert Grossman told the paper that many of the items found in the store were on a list of stolen items from residents who had their homes broken into.

Town trustee Derrick Burgess stated, “I don’t know of too many cell phone stores that happen to sell televisions.

“Especially televisions that have been identified as missing by our residents.”

Despite the owner of the Hook Up Rusan Ramadan denying all criminal charges, the village board revoked the license this week.

Sauk Village is vowing to clamp down on illegal businesses and those that sell stolen goods to protect local residents from illegitimate transactions.
