Las Vegas streamlines business licensing

The business licensing process in Las Vegas, Nevada has undergone reform to create a more streamlined system.

Businesses looking to apply for a license can now do so in one building and the process will take little more than a week, the Las Vegas Review Journal reported.

According to city officials, instead of having to go from one location to another to get plans reviewed, applying for a license is now a one stop shop at the new office building, formerly known as the University of Phoenix building.

Flinn Fagg, director of the Development Services Center, told the newspaper, “It has been … beneficial for us by bringing us under one roof.

“Part of it is streamlining of the review process, and again, having people here in the building who can answer questions about building safety or fire or public works.”

The city of Las Vegas also offer businesses the opportunity to apply for licenses online, and was in fact the first government agency in Southern Nevada to do so.
