An official has paid part of the fees outstanding for an upscale jet refuelling facility at San Bernardino International Airport, California but the business has still been denied a license.
City clerk Rachel Clark told the San Berdnardino Sun that T. Milford Harrison, a manager at Million Air, has paid part of the company’s late fees and other penalties but it wasn’t enough to obtain a business license.
Hours after it was reported that the company was operating without a license, Mr. Harrison arrived at City Hall to make a payment but it was insufficient to put an end to the crisis.
Million Air supplies private and corporate aircraft and has been without a license since April 2011.
The company is one of the most high profile businesses at San Bernardino International Airport and is viewed as key to the airport’s redevelopment project to establish it as a major civilian and commercial airbase.
Commenting on the loss of the license, Ms. Clark said to the newspaper, “It wasn’t like we were sitting around waiting for them to comply. We had been trying to get a hold of them.”
