A club in the City of Columbia, South Carolina has lost its business license for flouting the city’s smoking ban.
Officials voted to yank the license of Metro Live after it committed three violations within six months.
City records have shown that ten citations against the club have been written since August 2011.
A series of other crimes have also been linked to the club, but city staffers told The State that smoking violations were the easiest way to get a revocation of the club’s business license.
Within the first six months of opening, Metro Live has been the site of 15 fire violations, 65 arrests, and eight felony cases.
Police have also seized 88 grams of marijuana, five grams of cocaine, 42 bags of K2 spice and 109 bottles of bath salts.
The incident follows the announcement that businesses in the City of Columbia will have to disclose part of their federal tax form because of new business license procedure.
