Hessville store granted business license reprieve

A convenience store in Hessville, Indiana has been granted a business license reprieve.

GoLo was initially shut down on allegations of selling a banned marijuana substitute, Super Flame, but has won a one-year grace period, Hammond Community reported.

The drug that GoLo was accused of selling has been banned in Hessville and Hammond County since 2010.

A reprieve was granted by the Board of Public Works and Safety to reinstate the store’s business license for a supervisory one-year period on the grounds that the company claimed to be unaware of the ban.

GoLo’s attorney Justin Murphy claims that now the business is aware of the law it will stop selling Super Flame.

Kristina Kantar, city attorney, also noted that the owners of the store did not run the business from its current location in Hessville when the ban came into effect.

Marijuana substitutes have been banned in many places across the US, yet some establishments continue to sell the drug.
